The authors analyze the incomplete frictionless contact between an inclusion and surrounding plate. Based on Muskhelishvili complex potentials, the method of analytical continuation leads to a Prandtl-type singular integro-differential equation. The contact normal stress is expanded into series by means of Legendre polynomials. Numerical results using Simpson's quadrature formula on evenly spaced subdivisions provide normal and circumferential stress distributions along the contact angle.
