Singular fibers in Lefschetz fibrations on manifolds with \(b_2^+=1\) (Q5957275)

The author studies the nontrivial genus-\(g\) Lefschetz fibrations \(X \rightarrow S^2\), satisfying \(b^+_2(X) = 1\). He calculates the number of singular fibers in the cases \(g \geq 14\), \(g \geq 6\) and even, \(9 \leq g \leq 13\) and \(g\) odd (partial results). In the general case, a lower bound for the number of singular fibers is derived.
