The calculated response of a mistuned bladed disk assembly with friction dampers was discussed. An approximate method was developed to calculate the envelopes of the corresponding frequency response function for statistically varying eigenfrequencies of the blades. Regions, where localization occurs with a high probability, can be evaluated by the Weibull exponent. The comparison between the approximate method and the simulation shows a very good agreement. By means of this method the computation time can be reduced dramatically and gives a quick insight into the behavior of mistuned systems with parameter uncertainties and can be also applied to systems, which include the elaticity of the disk and bladed disk assemblies with shrouds.
