In [\textit{K. S. Miller} and \textit{B. Ross}, Indian J. Pure Appl. Math. 22, 763-767 (1991; Zbl 0745.34020)] the fractional Green's function was considered. In this paper the author applies this fractional Green's function to obtain direct and inverse viscoelasticity relations. In the discussion of the results obtained the comparison with the results of [\textit{R. C. Koeller}, J. Appl. Mech. 51, 299-307 (1984; Zbl 0544.73052)] is made.
