Asymptotic formulas are obtained for torsional rigidity, warping function, and shear stress in the problem of torsion of a thin hollow elastic cylinder of arbitrary cross-section. The formulas are discussed in detail in the case of a cross-section enclosed between two nearly homothetic ellipses.
