This paper addresses the construction of high-order explicit Runge-Kutta pairs. The author initially reviews some of the history of explicit Runge-Kutta methods and then moves onto illustrating his own approach to solving the large number of order conditions by constructing some new parametric families of 7,8 and 8,9 pairs.
