The article ``The generalized Waring problem: a new property of positive integers'' published in ibid. 58, No. 3, 372-378 (1995; Zbl 0860.11059) (pp. 933-937 of the English translation) contains an error due to the author. Theorem 2 should read as follows: For every \(m\geq 1\) and \(r\geq 2\), each natural number \(n>g(m,r)\cdot m^r+z\), \(z=\max\{Z(m,r)\}\), can be represented by sums (1) simultaneously for all \(s\) and \(1\leq s\leq n\), except for the values of \(s\) for which \(s\cdot m^r=n-z\), \(z\in Z(m,r)\), and, possibly, some values \(s<g(m,r)\).
