The paper considers the generalized logistic equation with a distributed delay. It discusses the cases of a distribution over a finite or an infinite history interval, and reduces these cases to equations with point delays. Numerical simulations show that for a sufficiently large delay, a supercritical Hopf bifurcation occurs, which disappears when the distribution interval becomes infinite.
