The authors investigate the steady and transient heat diffusion in stratified materials with layers running parallel to the heat flux direction. The steady solution is separated into a homogenized transfer in series with a constriction matrix term. In semi-infinite transient case, some simplified models are obtained from asymptotic expansions. These results could be useful in understanding experimental temperature field analysis for thermal non- destructive evaluation methods.
