A nonconforming finite element method for the numerical solution of a nonlinear parabolic equation is considered. The authors use a Ritz projection technique and prove its convergence and an optimal error estimate in \(L^2 (\| \cdot \|_h)\) norm. where \(\| \cdot\|_h\) is a norm over the finite element space.
