Multivariable uncertain control systems are considered. A uniform adaptive reaching phase strategy is presented, ensuring that the reaching time to a given neighbourhood of the sliding set is bounded from above by a predefinite constant. Under suitable assumptions, the existence of such a reaching time is proved. Some examples are considered.
