The author uses the method of energy inequalities to obtain a error priori estimates for the solution of the heat equation with variable coefficients and nonlocal boundary conditions of the first and second kind in the differential and finite difference settings. The results obtained generalize those given by him in [Differ. Equ. 44, No.~7, 952-959 (2008); translation from Differ. Uravn. 44, No.~7, 924--931 (2008; Zbl 1177.65120)], where a brief survey of publications on this topic is also given.
