In the paper under review, the author studies a coupled system made by a quiscent viscous incompressible fluid of constant density and a rigid body, fully immersed inside it, submitted to a time dependent force and torque, and torque. The author studies the 3D Navier-Stokes problem in a frame attached to the body, centered at its center of mass. He establishes, under appropriate smallness and decay conditions on the data, the global existence of strong solutions and proves that, for large time, the coupled system will go to rest. This extends earlier results known for ball-shaped bodies, to bodies of arbitrary shape.
