The results presented in this article complement the theory of nonlinear dynamics of vehicles. Namely, a dynamic model of a vehicle is proposed, for which it is possible to effectively analyze stability when braking. Based on the bifurcation diagram of state changes, a change in the dynamic characteristics of the car when the braking torque changes is established. It is shown that under different initial conditions, a vehicle can go to a stable state from an unstable state or to an unstable state from stable. In addition, it is proven that dynamic nature of car braking instability is a chaotic movement.
