The authors investigate a new two step P stable hybrid Obrechkoff method of order 8 for the numerical integration of second-order initial value problems. The details of the procedure adapted for the application is given. The interval of periodicity is improved up to \((0,+\infty)\) for the class of hybrid methods. A numerical result is presented to show its superiority in efficiency, accuracy, and stability.
