This paper deals with complex hierarchical multi-component systems which are controlled by a highly reliable System of Control (SoC). It is assumed that the state of the most elementary system units determine the reliability of the entire system. Moreover, repairs are considered to be renewals. Using a Markovian approach the Laplace transforms for the p.d.f. of the considered states are derived and the result is illustrated for the case that the lifetimes and the repair times are distributed according to exponential distributions.
