The author first gives a very clear and clean introduction to the Dereziński-Gérard model. Step-by-step the Hamiltonian for that model and its scaling is introduced. The style of introducing the problem should make the article readable for a broad audience. In the scaling limit for the Hamiltonian the author derives an effective potential, independent of whether or not the quantum field has a nonnegative mass. Finally the result is applied to the Nelson model. The statements can be caught quickly. The proofs are written clearly.
