In [\textit{N.\,Castro-González, E.\,Dopazo} and \textit{M.\,F.\thinspace Martínez-Serrano}, ``On the Drazin inverse of the sum of two operators and its application to operator matrices'', J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 350, No.\,1, 207--215 (2009; Zbl 1157.47001)], a formula for the Drazin inverse of an operator on a Banach space has been presented assuming a condition on a product. In this paper, a new formula for the Drazin inverse of an operator is given by using a similar assumption.
