Waves in a stochastic cell motility model (Q6174030)

The authors study the dynamics of actin waves in cells. The microscopic level where chemical reactions are described and the macroscopic level where reaction-diffusion equations are used, have been replaced by a mesoscopic description based on stochastic differential equations like chemical Langevin equation. This approach leads to better results than rough microscopic picture, and at the same time the model can be studied mathematically and via numerical simulations efficiently.
