The authors give new Sobolev estimates for the inverse and the heat semigroup of the Grushin operator \(G\) on \(\mathbb R^2\). Moreover, they give Liouville theorems and compute the spectrum of the Grushin operator \(G\) by transforming it into a family of parametrized Hermite operators.
