Periodic solutions of an equation of the form \(\varphi_{m-1}-\varphi_{m}+\varphi_{m+1}=f(\varphi_{m})\) are considered. It is shown that there are no 2-, 3-, 4- or 5-periodic solutions, while necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of 1-, 6-, 7-, 8- and 9-periodic solutions and their explicit forms can be given.
