The authors present a procedure to study stability and bifurcation of limit cycles in higher-dimensional systems. The procedure is based on the incremental harmonic balance method. By considering a particular three-dimensional system, it is shown that this procedure is a straightforward and efficient approach to investigate, both quantitatively and qualitatively, the stability and bifurcation of limit cycles.
