The paper deals with the derivation of a tractable system of equations to model radiation effects when heating or cooling a refractive absorbing medium. The temperature is raised locally by laser from 298 to 2500 K. The resulting governing equation represents coupling of the heat conduction and radiation. Discussed are also boundary conditions, a numerical scheme of a solution of multifrequency equations, definitions and getting material properties are discussed too. Finally, the authors present two numerical simulations for cooling of a silica slab and laser heating of a silica disk.
