A group is called \((2,3)\)-generated if it can be generated by an involution and an element of order 3. The aim of this paper is to provide new examples of classical matrix groups which are not \((2,3)\)-generated. In particular the author shows that \(\text{PSU}(5,4)\) and \(\text{Sp}(6,q)\) for odd \(q\) are not \((2,3)\)-generated.
