The authors investigate semifields of rank 6 over their centre \(\mathbb F_ q\), having at least one nucleus of order \(q^ 3\) and at least one of the remaining nuclei of order \(q^ 2\). They show that there are 5 families of this type of semifields, one of which is new. They also exhibit canonical forms for the multiplication of all their semifields.
