Symmetry reductions of a flow with power law fluid contaminant-modified viscosity (Q636110)

In order to investigate a system characterising nonreactive pollutant transport of a non-Newtonian fluid in a river constitutive equations obeying a power law fluid is considered. The governing nonlinear system of equations is solved via symmetry techniques. Forms of the source term for which the governing system admits extra point symmetries are obtained. Invariant solutions which satisfy physical boundary conditions are also constructed. In some cases numerical methods are used as a means of obtaining approximate solutions.
