The Cauchy problem for the porous medium equation with a source is considered. Solutions with a prescribed (finite or infinite) sequence of blow-up times are constructed for some range of parameters. In intervals between these blow-up times these solutions are bounded. The authors also prove a result of independent interest which says that proper solutions (defined by a cut-off procedure) are weak solutions.
