A short elementary proof, based on induction, is given to a recent result of \textit{I. M. Isaacs} and \textit{G. Navarro} [Arch. Math. 95, No. 3, 207-211 (2010; Zbl 1206.20022)] asserting that if an odd order group \(K\) acts on a \(2\)-group \(P\) and fixes all elements of order \(2\) and all real elements of order \(4\) of \(P\), then \(K\) acts trivially on \(P\).
