The Yartey formula [\textit{J. N. A. Yartey}, J. Dyn. Control Syst. 11, No. 2, 281- 296 (2005; Zbl 1066.37032)] which computes the number of cusps of the discriminant of a \(d\)-web, \(d>2\), on the complex projective plane is generalized to \(d\)-webs on complex compact surface.
