The authors study new properties of 9-point finite difference solution of the Laplace equation. They analyze the classical 9-point scheme on square grids for the solution of the Dirichlet problem on rectangles when the given boundary conditions are from \(C^{5,1}\). Necessary differential properties of the exact solution are given. Two new properties of the 9-point solution are given. The numerical justification of the obtained error estimate is given.
