A difference scheme for the heat equation with nonlocal boundary conditions containing a complex parameter, \(\gamma\), is considered. Stability domains in the complex \(\gamma\)-plane are identified and a criterion for stability with respect to the initial data is derived in the form of a condition on \(\gamma\) and the grid increments.
