The author studies the iterates of mappings \(g:X\to X\) which are nonexpansive with respect to Hilbert's metric for strictly convex domains \(X\) and for \(X\) an open \(n\)-simplex. Results regarding the convergence to a periodic orbit and estimates for the periods of periodic points are given.
