The paper provides necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a linearizable \(1:-3\) resonant center with quadratic nonlinear terms, and improves the result of \textit{V. G. Romanovski} and \textit{M. Prešern} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 236, No. 2, 196--208 (2011; Zbl 1225.13029)]. The tools utilized are well illustrated in the section of preliminaries. They are about blow-up transformations such as \((x,y)\mapsto (x/y,y)\) and the scheme to detect the Darboux linearization method. All calculations greatly rely on several software packages.
