The authors consider sets of irrational number \(x\in(0,1)\) with given growth rates of digits in their Engel expansion. For these sets a Baire classification is given and their Hausdorff dimension is determined. The paper improves results found in [\textit{J. Liu}, Fractals 28, No. 7, Article ID 2050140, 9 p. (2020; Zbl 1495.11094)].
