The author defines the necklace as follow: suppose that two circles with radii \({R_1}\) and \({R_2}\) touch each other internally; the circles are inscribed into the large circle so that they touch the original small circle. The resulting system minus the outer and inner circles is called a necklace. In this paper, the author uses complex numbers finding the maximum area and the minimum area of the necklace.
