Some recent progress on the mathematical theory of wave turbulence, also called wave kinetic theory, is presented. A description of the theory together with its scope is provided and an overview on the mathematical literature is given. Then some main results, in particular the theorem of \textit{Y. Deng} and \textit{Z. Hani} [Invent. Math. 233, No. 2, 543--724 (2023; Zbl 1530.35276)] presented and discussed.
