The authors consider a network of Hindmarsh-Rose neurons diffusively coupled through voltage. As well as connections between pairs of neurons, they also consider connections between triples (2-simplexes). These connections are all considered to be time-dependent, with switching between different (equivalent) connectivities at random times. They numerically investigate the effects of varying overall connectivity strengths, switching rates, connection strengths for 2-simplexes, connection strengths for 1-simplexes and average 2-simplex degree on the occurence of complete synchrony. The briefly show that calculation of the master stability function gives results consistent with their results from numerical simulation of the networks.
