The invariant subspace problem asks whether every bounded linear operator on a separable complex infinite dimensional Hilbert space has a nontrivial closed invariant subspace. This problem is a long-standing open problem, and in the paper under review, the author discuss the invariant subspace problem for hyponormal operators, namely, operators such that \([T^*,T]\geq 0\). They address three strategies towards a possible affirmative answer to that problem.
