The paper is an attempt to solve a version of Berger's conjecture [\textit{R. Berger}, Math. Z. 81, 326--354 (1963; Zbl 0113.26302)] on the regularity of a ring of dimension one. For this reason, a result of \textit{D. Hanes} and \textit{C. Huneke} [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 201, No. 1--3, 4--16 (2005; Zbl 1090.13019)] has been used and then the aformentioned result shed some lights to see when an ideal is strongly non-obstructed and when a given semidualizing module is free.
