Based on novel comparison techniques utilizing differential-integral inequalities and the theory of M-matrices, the authors study the existence of positive solutions and exponential stability of a BAM-Cohen-Grossberg neural network model with time-varying delays and nonlinear self-excitation rates. The conditions of Theorem 3 are expressed in the form of easily tractable linear programming conditions, which can be efficiently solved using convex optimization algorithms. Finally, the paper demonstrates the effectiveness and feasibility of the obtained theoretical results through numerical simulations.
