Summary: We introduce a new norm and a new \(K\)-functional \(K_{\varphi^{\lambda}}(f; t)_{\omega, \lambda}\). Using this \(K\)-functional, direct and inverse approximation theorems for the Baskakov operators with the Jacobi-type weight are obtained in this paper.
