Discrete-time linear control systems with uncertainty and disturbances are considered. Trajectory tracking is addressed. A new design of reaching laws is presented. Conditions are found such that the sliding variable converges with fixed-step convergence, and an upper bound of the number of convergence steps is obtained, independent of the initial error. Dead-beat terminal sliding mode control is considered with fixed-step convergence of the tracking error. Examples are presented in detail, and an experimental text is reported.
