The authors analyse a non-local traffic flow model for 1-to-1 junctions with buffers. The non-local term involves a ``downstream'' convolution term, hence drivers adapt their velocity depending on traffic conditions in front of them. The heterogeneity of the roads (speed limits and varying capacities) is considered. The existence of weak solutions in the free-flow case is proved. The limit cases where the interaction range is either infinite or zero are analyzed. An upwind-type numerical scheme is employed.
