First, the authors introduce both the MCIM (Mass Corrected Interpolation Method) and PWIM (Pressure Weighted Interpolation Method) methods in the context of a CVFEM (Control Volume-Based Finite Element Method) to the incompressible Navier-Stokes system. Then, three different solution algorithms for both methods are considered: a fully coupled algorithm, a segregated algorithm without any pressure correction equations, and a SIMPLE-like algorithm (Semi-Implicit Method for Pressure-Linked Equations). The paper aims to investigate the effect of under-relaxation factors in cell face velocities and the main equations. The accuracy, convergence rate, and numerical dissipation of the algorithms mentioned earlier for both methods are evaluated by solving two benchmark problems: steady laminar flow in a lid-driven cavity and unsteady laminar flow in the Taylor-Green vortex flow.
