Let \( \Gamma\) be a discrete group and let \(l\) be a length function on \(\Gamma\). We say that \( \Gamma\) has the property (RD) (short for rapid decay) with respect to \(l\) if there exist constants \( c,t \geq 0\) such that for all finitely supported \( f:\Gamma\longrightarrow\mathbb{C},\) we have \( \parallel f\parallel_{C_r^\ast\Gamma} \leq c\parallel f\parallel_{l,t} \) where \(\parallel .\parallel_{C_r^\ast\Gamma}\) is the operator norm on \( l^{2}\Gamma \) given by convolution and \(\parallel f\parallel_{l,t}=(\sum_{\gamma\in\Gamma}\mid f(\gamma)\mid^{2}(1+l(\gamma))^{2t})^{1/2} \) is the weighted \(l^{2}\)-norm.\N\NMany authors have studied and proved the property (RD) for a large class of groups.\N\NThere are several generalizations and analogues in many directions of the rapid decay property in the literature. We can cite the radial decay property for functions on groups which are constant on spheres, the rapid decay type property for groups with a given \(2\)-cocycle or rapid decay for representations of groups on \( L^{p}\)-spaces for \( p\neq 2\).\N\NThe property (RD) was also studied on several objets such as metric spaces, quantum groups, groupoids etc. For example, \textit{C. J. Hou} [Acta Math. Sin., Engl. Ser. 33, No. 4, 526--544 (2017; Zbl 1381.46051)] has extended the rapid decay property to setting of étale groupoids. In this context, he proved several well-know consequences of the rapid decay property on groups and also obtained some examples of groupoids admitting the (RD) property.\N\NThe current paper is concerned by a generalization of the property (RD) on twisted étale groupoids equipped with a length function. The author obtains some generalizations of Hou's results [loc. cit.] as well as those of the appendix of [\textit{V. Mathai}, Contemp. Math. 398, 321--345 (2006; Zbl 1122.46053)] mentioned in the references. He has also proved that for continuous length functions and principal groupoids, the property (RD) is equivalent to polynomial growth of length functions.
