The paper studies the performance of a teaching-learning-based optimization algorithm (TLBO) and its elite version (ETLBO) in obtaining the optimum set of design parameters for the path synthesis of a four-bar linkage. The position error is assessed to verify the efficiency and accuracy in comparison with other known methods in four case studies. The style of the exposition is easy to follow, starting with a nice comprehensive introduction and literature review, and providing abundance of graphical content, diagrams and tables. The authors manage to build their case for supporting the proposed methods quite convincingly, and at the same time in a `reader-friendly' manner.
