Some properties of monoids with infinity (Q6582346)

Introducing the notion of PC cancellative additive monoids with infinity, the authors of this paper prove the characterization theorems on cancellative additive principal ideal domains with infinity improving some existing literature both in the context of commutative cancellative monoids and commutative ring theory. They focus on the similarities between the ideal theory of commutative monoids and commutative rings. The overview of the basic elements of the ideal theory of monoids using the additive notation and with an infinity element in each monoid are also discussed here. Furthermore, various types of domains with infinity and the relations amongst them are investigated by the authors both in commutative rings and commutative semigroups. The theories as carried out in the paper are also supported by examples to ensure the clear insight of the results proved here.
