The author investigates the Hausdorff dimension and Hausdorff measure of subsets of a set of finite type generated by an irreducible \((0,1)\)-matrix \(A\). The Hausdorff dimension of a set of finite type \(\Sigma_A\) with positive Parry measure is computed. Using this result, a necessary and sufficient condition is given for the equality of the Hausdorff measure of a measurable subset \(C\subset\Sigma_A\) and the set of finite type \(\Sigma_A\).
