This paper aims to improve the constants in \(P_1\) interpolation error estimates by using a Taylor-like formula proven in a previous publication. This Taylor-like formula is also used to deduce an implicit numerical scheme for the heat equation. The method is specific to the dimension one and the proofs can be understood at undergraduate level.
