B-splines in one variable formed by piecewise polynomials are by now an established and highly useful tool in computed aided geometric design and more generally in numerical analysis. In this paper these B-splines and the spline curves formed by them are used for designing curves along paths in a two-step algorithm that provides a particular degree of accuracy. The degree of the B-splines is three; many practical examples for these design algorithms are provided.
